PASSING ON FUN ADVICE, I JUST CANT USE...

Calling all middle class, and barely-making-enough-money-to-shop, for shoes, single women in NYC. If you're sick and fucking tired of being young, broke, and fabulous you have two options: 1. You can buy the book Young, Broke, and Fabulous, realize how bad it is, then vow to better your situation, or 2. You can check out this funny column I found written by a fellow blogger that's all about how to land a loaded banker boyfriend in NYC. Sounds like a fun (and potentially fulfilling) project, so if you're feeling ambitious, go for it, then invite me to yourultra mushy bridal shower and overpiced carribeean wedding. Deal?

SECOND YEAR SAGAS

I'M THRILLED TO BE A FIRST YEAR STUDENT AT THE MOMENT, BECAUSE AS YOU CAN SEE FROMTHE LOOK ON MY FRIEND JOSEF'S FACE, TRYING TO FINISH A THESIS AND YOUR GRADUATION REQUIRMENTS CAN BE A REAL BLOWER. I'M GUESSING HE HASN'T SLEPT IN DAYS, BUT IN ANY CASE, GOOD LUCK GUYS! (SO GLAD I'VE GOT ANOTHER YEAR TO PREPARE FOR THAT MOMENT!) Posted by Picasa

FIRST SUNNY DAY IN MONTHS

YUP, THE RAIN HAS STOPPED -- FOR NOW! For the first time in, like, 42 days, the sun has come out and stayed out. I couldn't wait to go back to wearing heels, and thin jackets. Sun doesn't mean warmth here in NorCal, but it does mean more smiles, more people out and about, and more positive energy in our apartment. (Oh, and it means sexy "I'm a star" paparazzi shades -- too!) Posted by Picasa

METER DUTY

On Thursday Gibran hung tough with me all day during classes. It was his day off, and he decided to get some higher learning instead of sleeping in and watching bad TV. The only thing he had to was go on serious meter duty. (Parking tickets are inevitable if you're off by even a second, around Cal's campus) He did his job -- I managed to avoid a $40 ticket -- something I rarely do!) Posted by Picasa

REMEMBER TILLY?

Previouslly I blogged about Tilly being our unofficial J-school mascot. She belongs to my classmate Jordan and his delightfully sweet girlfriend, Hannah. Gibran and I dog sat Tilly for three days last week. It was so great to have a dog around again, since I've been a dog lover most of my life! She's a little bigger than I'm used to, but that face makes up for everthing!

METROSEXUALS, OUT! REAL MEN, IN!

With the announcement of the official closing of men's Shopping magazine, CARGO, comes the admission of what I already knew, and that's that there aren't enough openly vane men in the world to keep all the men's beauty/fashion mags that were born in the 21st century alive. Are there metros out there? Oh yes. Will they chalk up more than 30 bucks a month to purchase the new issues of all these mags? Nope! Farewell CARGO, and best of luck to your former staffers, and your competitors!

RAINY DAY READY

Okay, don't quote me, but I think today is the 41st day in a row that it has rained in the Bay. The first ten days, I chalked it up to just being the heart of the rainy season. The second ten days I was a bit annoyed by the back-to-back bad hair days and "rain outfits". The thrid ten days it began to affect my overall mood, leaving me cranky, sleepy, and slightly unproductive. These last ten days, I've practically lost my mind!! Anybody know a reverse rain dance? I can't deal!!! (See me hiding beneath a tree, waiting to view an apartment. Yeah that's right, the search is still on!) Posted by Picasa
